Hayley Hasselhoff & Nikki Blonsky are 'Huge'

Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky and newcomer Hayley Hasselhoff are signed on to star in ABC Family’s upcoming series Huge, based on a book by Sasha Paley.

Hayley is the 17-year-old the daughter of Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff. The series will also star Zander Eckhouse, the son of James Eckhouse (Papa Jim Walsh in Beverly Hills 90210).

Huge, written by My So-Called Life creator Winnie Holzman and her daughter, Savannah Dooley, is being touted as Glee meets Ugly Betty. THR reports the “series will revolve around six teens and the staff at Wellness Canyon, a weight-loss camp. It centers on Will (Blonsky), a funny, opinionated overweight girl sent to the camp by her wealthy parents who own a chain of fitness centers, and Amber (Hasselhoff), a curvy teen who is the skinniest and hottest girl at the camp but who considers herself too heavy.”

What’s with all the ‘ness’ . Makes you sound stupid. it is not being hotness? Really? Can you not form a sentence?

  • Pockets39

This is so great! I can’t wait for this series. Nikki is a great actress and Haley is so cute. This series will show both sides of the coin. The need for girls to be extreemly skinny to the point of starvation and the girls who need to learn athat its whats inside that is important.

I know all the Nikki haters will be out in force to say nasty things about her. They are so paranoid.

  • Shawna

I find this really sad. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and having the only show that features bigger ladies be a show about them having to lose weight is just incredibly offensive.

  • Jen

I actually think it’s great that it takes place at a weight loss camp because then people can see all the struggles teens go through to lose weight and all that they go through. Both actresses are cute and Nikki was really great in Hairspray, so I look forward to watching this.

Hayley looks like Megan McCain. Hopefully, she’s not as dumb as Megan.

BTW, countdown to Gabourey Sidibe joining the series starts…now!

  • Jenna

I soooo want to watch this!

  • Jokergurl

Sheesh, the title itself “HUGE” is an insult to fat people. This is going to to run for long I don’t think. Since America is the fattest place on the planet and more kids are being born with type 2 diabetes why not have overweight series about it. It’s fine I guess, but you know what this is just as bad as having underweight actresses with their own t.v. series (cough 90210) I’m sick of the media portraying fat now is chic or cool it’s just as bad as portraying anorexic as cool. If the media promoted HEALTHY girls then that would be a pleasant change.

    Excuse me,Joker?????

Let’s validate obesity by giving morbidly overweight people TV shows. Hey… then that way all the other overweight people will feel better about themselves. AWESOME!
No wonder I don’t watch TV anymore. All you see anymore are d-listers dancing, people eating bugs, and fatties.
