Ryan Gosling & Michelle Williams: 'Valentine' Luncheon

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams celebrate the release of their new film Blue Valentine at a luncheon hosted by The Weinstein Company on Thursday (December 9) at The Kimberly Hotel in New York City.

The two co-stars were joined by director Derek Cianfrance and their 6-year-old co-star Faith Wladyka.

Ryan also posed for pics with actress Parker Posey.

Later that evening, Michelle and Ryan, both 30, attended a screening of their film during the 2010 Variety New York Screening Series held at NYC’s Chelsea Clearview Cinema.

Blue Valentine‘s NC-17 rating was recently overturned by the MPAA and will now be given an R rating.

FYI: Michelle is wearing a white lace cap sleeve dress from the Prada Spring.Summer 2011 Collection.

    This has got to be the longest promotion for a film that I know of??…and with all the film festivals and screenings, how come this film hasn’t come away with any awards yet?? OK there are rave reviews for the performances, but overall nothing for the film as a whole…man that’s seems like such a waste of a promotion campaign!!!

  • Jen

    Bland.

  • mira

    @scamp: man, you just took the words right out of my mouth! Enough already with this film! I’ve seen so much promo only on blockbusters!

  • hey

    @scamp:
    this isn’t just a promotion campaign. it’s an oscar campaign.

  • scamp

    @hey:

    Harvey’s production company has The Kings Speech campaigning for the Oscars as well and yet hasn’t been promoted all year long like BV…but at least it has come away with some awards already, and the film and Colin are looking like lead contenders for the Oscars? Tell me what’s the difference???

  • carly

    I had every intention of seeing this movie when I first heard about it but now I don’t think I want to see it anymore. It’s being shoved down our throats every chance it gets with premieres, screenings every damn month and I’m sick of it. Enough already, we get it, good movie great performances, they should get Oscars-blah, blah, blah. I don’t want to hear about it anymore. The hype is overkill.

  • hey

    @scamp:
    this isn’t just a promotion campaign. it’s an oscar campaign.@scamp:
    the difference is that BV premiered at Sundance back in january and is getting oscar buzz ever since. TKS only premiered in september at TIFF so it only started getting oscar buzz in september.

  • scamp

    @hey:

    Your reasoning is has no sound basis to it! TKS…short campaign to date…clear lead for Oscars in Best Film, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor…short odds for Best Director

    BV….long campaign, very long…odds on for Best Actor…still in 5th or 6th spot…odds on for Best Actress…still in 5th or 6th spot as well…that’s it!!

    Hmmm comparisons show a there must be clear difference in promotion/campaign strategies???

    Hell I bet everyone already knows the answers to the Q&A’s after the screenings and interviews. So they took 12 years to finally develop it, Ryan and Michelle lived like a real couple for a couple of weeks/months, the NC-17 rating, the sex scenes…god what don’t we know about it already???

  • Kirsten

    They are promoting the film a lot but I think Gosling deserves recognition. He is brilliant in every film he’s in.

    I like her dress. where can I buy it?

  • Lynn

    Her face is obnoxious. Sorry, there’s something about Michelle Williams I really don’t like.

  • overrated

    Over these two and their overhyped movie.

    I love this movie, so real

  • Brat Actress

    @Lynn:
    She is not pretty and Heath Ledger deserved someone with a sweet
    personality who would have made him happy. She is a selfish entitled
    brat who stole his freedom to find a better woman to have a child with.
