Good for Ed! Sounds like a great opportunity for him. Can’t wait to see him play someone other than Chuck Bass

I dont see her as Juliet….Olivia Hussey was the perfect Juliet.
…why is “Hollywood” in production for yet another “Romeo and Juliet ” movie?! It’s been done before many times…

she makes a way better juliet than claire danes did

She’s a kid.. Juliet is supposed to look at least 17 years old. That’s what Claire Danes did look like when she played Juliet in the most popular adaptation.

WTF is wrong with Hollywood nowadays? Italian 14 year olds in Shakespearean times looked MATURE and OLDER than their ages, so the least Juliet is supposed to look is 17.

@thighmegatampon: in your dreams….. claire danes LOOKED like juliet and did an amazing job. this hailee little kid is just a babyface kid.

I’m so happy for him :0
go ed <3

I can see him as Tybalt

he would make a cool tybalt! but really u cnt follow up baz’s version it was too good !!! and haillee is 14! a bit innapropriate! natalie portman was refused the role of juliet instead of claire because she wastoo young!

A 14 year old and a 23 year old as a couple? Really? Yeah I know I know it’s acting and she really looks like Juliet but still this is how hollywood turns you out. I hope here parents are watching here back.

@mann: Tybalt isn’t her husband…he’s her cousin.

Secondly, Juliet is supposed to be 14, so Hailee does fit in perfectly. Romeo is supposed to be about 17.

Thirdly, it’s shakespeare. That means it will always have countless adaptations of it. It’s classic. And as much I love the Baz Lurhman 1996 film (Leo and Claire) I look forward to this one as well.

Sheesh you people.

he’d be better as romeo!

Hailee is the perfect Juliet! Congrats to her. She’ll be amazing! :)

he should be Romeo.. I can see it already
“OH ROMEOOO!”
… “NO- IM… CHUCK BASS.”

She’s way too young to portray Juliet but i totally see Ed as Tybalt

So excited for Ed and so happy he’s getting movies outside of Gossip Girl.
I love Hailee and I think shes a great Juliet. Juliet is only suppose to be 13/14 years old so I think shes true to the character.
I know it’s been done before but I think it’s a timeless story that can be done again and again and its fun to compare the different versions. This one is being adapted by Julian Fellows who is a great writers so I have high hopes for this version.

Oh good god, if it aint broke, don’t fix it!

Oh no, another Romeo and Juliet? The one with Leo and Clarie was a masterpiece, this will never be as good so why even bother.

@dance: Juliet is actually supposed to be 14.

Yay, I’ve been waiting to
see Hailie in another role.
I’m stoked to see Ed as well.

He’s kinda perfect for Tybalt
