Natalie Portman Takes Baby Aleph to the Museum

Natalie Portman heads to Musee d’Orsay with her 3-month-old son Aleph on Thursday (September 8) in Paris, France.

A U.K. publisher will reportedly be releasing a fitness book from the trainer who helped transform Natalie‘s body for Black Swan.

“Ballet Beautiful,” written by Mary Helen Bowers, “showcases a plan of exercises and strengthening and toning techniques, as well as diet and lifestyle advice, with a foreword provided by Portman.”

Interesting that ALEPH is the title of the novel by Paulo Coelho (author of The Alchemist). The Aleph is also the title of a story by Jorge Luis Borges in 1949. Borges describes an Aleph as: “one of the points in space that contains all other points”. I wonder if Natalie and Benjamin are fans of Borges/Coelho? I know that Aleph is also the name of the first letter of the proto-cannanite alphabet (used in Hebrew, Arabic, Syria, etc), but just wondering…

barbie — There are pics of Natalie dancing on stage with Paulo Coelho from Cannes a few years ago, perhaps there is indeed a connection.

  • jo

Here is Aleph pics! He’s too cute I think he looks much more like the father. what do you think?

  • thenextbestthing

that’s interesting, i agree. i think Natalie had to be inspired by this name and not only see it as unique. she’s a very intelligent person and good on her for protecting the child from countless flash lights.

  • Happy_Evil_Dude

@barbie: you know what I also know? Alpeh is a stupid name, and what with Natalie Portman changing her own name to sound more “normal”, she ought to know better.

  • lexy hates bilson

She changed her name for privacy reasons. And I don’t blame her for keeping her baby hidden. The paps are relentless!! If she had a yard they’d be hiding in trees trying to get pics!

  • OSC

That’s not a blanket, it’s a nursing cover fyi. Go Natalie for nursing!

  • just me

Saw pics are the face yesterday . He is cute baby but it was Quickly taken off. She can’t hide his face people already has seem what he look like. Cute baby.

Isn’t it about time she married her fiancé to legitimise their child?

It is interesting to see how your brain analyse this picture.

First you are wondering : Does she have her kid with her? Where?
Then you understand that he’s hidden under the cover.
After, it feels pretty scary. So, she really cannot go out normally like everyone?
Finally you find it normal because she is Nathalie portman.

    Normal i said?

  • anonymous

She’s annoying. What is she going to do, cover his face everywhere they go until he is an adult?! When celebs try too hard to “hide”, it just feeds the beast and makes the paps more crazy. She strikes me as an ungrateful and spoilt person. She has the extra-big smile on when she was begging to be given an Oscar, but before that and since then, she’s looks like a miserable-B, with her angry and annoyed-with-the “little people” face. She needs to get over herself and enjoy the priviledge life that the is lucky to have. She’s not nearly as talented as she thinks she is.

  • Basketca

A book about how Natalie got her body in Black Swan? You mean a book about how to look like an anoxeric? Cause that’s how she looks in the movie (and how she’s supposed to look in it).

  • kroq

Hey anonymous, why so bitter? All that huffin’ and puffin’ won’t do you any good.

  • Kasey

@OSC: Huge assumption. Youve no idea if it was bought to be a nursing cover, if she’s nursing at all or if it was bought because it was designed to be soft etc on the baby so she could keep him covered from prying eyes. She could be nursing, but you dont know that

  • kat

on one hand we see Victoria Beckham showing off her little angel and on the other hand Natalie trying to keep it away from our “hungry eyes”…. ! if i have to choose, my choice will be Natalie!! (eventually we will get to see Aleph – do not like the name though!)

  • mimi

I wish they had a shot of the baby but from what I can see already it looks really really adorable, the parents look good too. I love the baby outfit with the hat and white outfit, cute.

  • Belv

@Happy_Evil_Dude: Normal? Why are you saying Portman is more normal than Herslag? Wtf? She changed her last name professionally so that people would think she got ahead on her own merits. But as a child she became an actor because of her Jewish connections.

  • crankyPorkman

looking miserable and ugly as always..

  • fire

The pics of her leaving the restaurant with her parents, son and fiance show her looking angry. There was a blanket covering her son’s face there too.

  • unknown

She IS pretentious as hell but that’s all she knows.. can’t really blame her for it. I think she’s a good actress

  • Allons – y Allonso

Bless you, Natalie Portman. Get the kid to visit museums early!

  • Christina

She is fugly, untalented and uninteresting.
