Nicki Minaj's Grammys Performance - Watch Now!

Nicki Minaj levitates during her performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old rapper kicked it off by confessing the lyrics to her new single, “Roman Holiday,” while sitting next to The Pope, the same man she walked with on the red carpet earlier in the evening.

The performance, called “The exorcism of [Nicki's alter ego] Roman,” was choreograhed by Laurieann Gibson and featured religious imagery, pyrotechnics, and backup dancers dressed as monks.

“OMG @ that chris brown performance. >>>>>>>> SHUT DOOWWWNNNN,” Nicki tweeted about another one of the night’s performers.

That surprisingly brought me closer to my Catholic faith, because now I know that Hell would be like that performance just always on a rerun. Nicki you failed. # LadyGaGawannabe

I strongly believe that the only artist that can make a good cinematic music video/performance is Lady Gaga. Regardless of how messed up.

Ughhh people so quick to judge. This was a GOOD performance. if you dont like Nicki then you wouldnt like it no matter what she did. But this was different, and entertaining. The only thing i wish is that she didnt sing as much, shes really pitchy and if it was less demonic and religious and more fantasy (Zombies, Vampires, etc.) because people allready have mixed decisions allready about that stuff. So Nicki . . . you get an A- for this one.

I think that by far this is the best performace Nicki has made yet… Recognize talent when it`s due….

@Amanda: & Lady Gaga or any other female artist or just plain any artist in genre wouldn’t be anything without Witney Houston, she’s the one that most artists have looked up to, music wise. That’s the brutal truth. Deal with it.

I have yet to read so much as one positive comment about this performance, think I’ll skip it!

Glad I was able to catch Adele, though! What a gorgeous girl and magnificent voice!

An artist has to be true to her/himself and not tailor their art to please EVERYONE!
So you lose some fans, teenyboppers, middle Americans, religious zealots along the way, no biggie. Stay the course and be true to yourself. True, her performance was self indulgent, pretentious, and heavy handed, but I’ll take someone failing on a massive scale doing something different over someone playing it safe and nice and bland.

Go to KingAmped on who has the new “Roman Holiday” post showing up in searches. The previous post got BANNED, had only 300+likes/1000+dislikes. Hmmm, I wonder why… furthermore, this post along with some others are BIASED & will only post likes for Garbaj. They throw some dislikes on the main bar to make it appear authentic. MTV’s also trying to put a positive spin on this **** performance. Baby’s throwin out $$$ to stop the bleeding lol… u know ur a FRAUD when u have to pay to be adored. M A R Y Says:

why nicki why!!!! lil kim doesnt even rap anymore so why are you still dissin her. I think the real beef is among fan bases that play HYPEMAN and encourage this nonsense, like the song stupid hoe and now this wicked performance (smh) Nicki just make more music we fell in love with like YOUR LOVE and SUPERBASS and stop dissin iconic legends before bad karma follow you with the sophomore jinx. one last thing dont fall into the media & blog hype, just do you and longevity is promise.

“wah wah wah I had to pray after watching this lord help us praise jesus let’s go hump a bible boo-freaking-hoo DERP DERP DERP”
I loved the performance. I thought it was creative, fun & theatrical.
People really need to chill out about the religious stuff. She isn’t the first to use religious imagery in her performances and she definitely won’t be the last. People are so petty sometimes, I swear. Call me an idiot, thumb’s down my comment, I really don’t care.

    Juliette Says:

I’m a really big Nicki fan, but, this was just over done. When they began to sing Oh Come All Ye Faithful at the end, it got scary for me. I wanted no parts of that. There are just certain things you don’t do.

    Jorp Says:

    Save the say?

    Lele Says:

I was confused throughout this entire thing. It’s great that people want to be different and entertaining but when you do crazy things to get attention, it becomes more and more difficult to top yourself each time. I think she’s at the point where it’s just all downhill.

    OMG Says:

Nicki Minaj, Super Bass was awesome. This crap you pulled on the Grammy’s put you off of any of my playlists. You are mocking religion. Please read the BIBLE, God will punish you for this. The money may be rolling in now but after that, who knows what will happen to you. Nicki should observe Adele, she is simple and sings with no effort, she is a true artist. Also the Foo Fighters who stated they did their last song, which won an award in their garage, no computers, ect, they used their real talent………Nickie, needs to watch and learn……..get a life.
