Alexander Skarsgard: RomaFictionFest Closing Ceremony!

Alexander Skarsgard suits up for the 2012 RomaFictionFest closing ceremony held at Auditorium Parco Della Musica on Friday (October 5) in Rome, Italy.

Earlier in the week, the 36-year-old actor attended the fifth season premiere of True Blood at RomaFictionFest with his co-star Kristin Bauer.

Alexander recently spoke to The Wall Street Journal about the difference between shooting True Blood and making a short film for Calvin Klein.

“This [Calvin Klein short film] was different on one level because there’s no dialogue. That was a cool challenge of telling a story with no words. But that’s what I love about this job. One day you are covered in blood shooting True Blood and the next day you are doing this. I just wrapped this film in Vancouver called Hidden about a family in a bomb shelter. So from this to like dirty bomb shelter with rats and smoke and soot and fire, that’s what so great about this job,” Alexander shared.

@Disney Villainess: Last year around this time was a bad Skarsdrought as well, basically nothing from when he started filming the East until the beginning of January. I hope we get some sighting of him between now and the start of TB filming in January.

@ladybug: I remember that all too well, “The Swedish God Fall/Winter Drought of 2011″, as I like to call it, bad times, very bad times indeed, LOL. It would be nice to get some sprinkling of Skars, but if we don’t see his ass between now and Jan, I personally wouldn’t feel too bad. We better get some meaty, shirtless, butt ass naked Skars in return though, that’s the least he could do that right?;-)

    Macy Says:

She probably has inside connections I would think. The drought sucks. I wish we’d get something new, but he’s probably holed up with his buddies in his parent’s cabin or something.

This house reminds me more of a Geoffrey Bawa inspired house than a FLW. I like it . Nice and bright with a great view and probably very private.

@Macy: There’s a Hammarby homegame tomorrow, the 29th. Maybe we’ll get FanboySkars shots.

    Macy Says:

That would be cute, he’s always so expressive at the games. I hope his brothers are there with him if he goes. I love seeing them hang out as a family.

@ladybug: #299…yes, I remember that I also have read something about this – but just couldn’t say where… Hmm…well, even if he said this obviously – but I suspect, one can’t name Los Feliz small (in sense of a small population)… I guess, it’s possible that it is his – but also good possible that he bought a other house in that area. Like I said, it’s a nice house – so it’s good conceivable that it would match his imaginations.

As for the millenium trilogy; no, I didn’t read it yet. Because I still read Henning Mankell’s “The Man from Beijing”…as you can see I’m presently on the swedish route…;)) LoL…but I plan to read it, after I have read the Mankell.

@Macy: #303 …well, holed up in his parents cabin sounds somehow like a good idea – because it’s pretty cold here in germany now and I guess in sweden too. We have just something around 31°F here…brrr….bibber….but no problem, then for what else exists glögg?? ;) LoL

As for the Hammarby game; I also like the pics where one can see how he spends time with his siblings…and as nice this would be -fan pics with him at the game- (I like this pics too!) – but on the other hand I think too, IF he is actually in sweden, then very probable also for that reason to have some days rest (especially from the paparazzi etc.) and some relaxed days with his family.

    Trying again, in two parts:

Here’s the first article where he first mentioned the house:

    ladybug Says:

    Pt 2:

He’s mentioned it in some fashion in many of the subsequent CK interviews:

“I’m an expat [Skarsgard lives in California], but I grew up [in Stockholm] and so of course when I got my first home in L.A. I went out and got a very modern, Swedish-looking, [Richard] Neutra-style house. I think there is something about the old platitude that less is more. It leaves more room for imagination.”

The woman who runs the Real Estalker site strikes me as someone who does her research, odds are strong that it’s really his house.

I’ve not read Mankell in along time, I’ll probably have to start from the beginning.
I know people who didn’t like the whole Millennium trilogy, they liked the first book, which was more straightforward mystery, as opposed to the last two, which got more political.

No pics of him so far at the Hammarby game, so either he went and stayed hidden, which doesn’t seem normal for him, or he didn’t go.

    Macy Says:

Well maybe he’s hunkered down with a nice toasty fire and some lamd stew. LOL

Rats! I was hoping for some fanboy shots.

    Cafélady Says:

@ladybug: #310, #311 Thanks for the link(s). But he doesn’t described directly his house himself in the first article. Only the author of the article mentioned some details – and no one knows exactly whether he said something like this himself.
In the second article he just talks about his first house in Los Feliz, yes – but again; no special description (ok, except the architecture – but I guess there are plenty of houses in LF who would match to the named description, right?) and not really a comment regarding his direct neighbourhood.

You might be right – perhaps the woman did her homework, and it is actual his house. It is only – I do not like this, not really at least. That people publish such infos about others on the net or elsewhere. Like I said, it feels somehow strange. But ok, it’s HW.

Generally are crime stories not really my thing. The Mankell for instance I had already a few years in my bookshelf – still completely sealed in the foil. LoL
And the ‘millenium’ one, was a price reduced copy – and I was interested (after I have watched the movies) at the original novel.

Speaking of swedish route ;) LoL; you should really see the GSI Göteborg movies if possible. I was surprised how good Joel Kinnaman played his role-character. Of course, I’m a true Alex fan (always was and will ever be) but I found Joel was impressive. His perfomance was another big reason to me, to watch season 2 (most of it).

    ladybug Says:

@Macy: Maybe he actually got out of Sweden and is somewhere else, maybe sunny and tropical. He was able to get to Barcelona without being noticed at first, not outside the realm of possibility that he was able to do it again.

@Cafélady: I’m pretty sure the skyline views description from the GQ interview is paraphrased from Alex, also possible that Alex showed him a pic of the view, the interviewer doesn’t seem to be the type that makes that up. As Tulip pointed out, and I can tell you from also having been there, not all of Los Feliz is hilly and going to give you those views.

I know that people don’t like that we know this, but then it’s always been such, just easier with the internet. Once there were Hollywood Stars there were maps to HW star’s homes. And he made it easier by mentioning where, when and what kind of house.

  15. 315
    Macy Says:

Maybe, but he does like the different seasons so he might still be there. Either way, I’m glad he’s getting some down time with his friends and family. He’s been a busy guy and this season will probably be a big one, especially if it ends up being the last one.

  16. 316
    ladybug Says:

@Macy: Oh, he could still be there. I’m impressed that wherever he is he’s not being bothered.
I know the the general impression is that the life of a working actor isn’t that tiring or difficult, especially compared to that of say, a firefighter or a nurse, etc.
But he’s been working pretty hard the last three/four years and having this long of a break, by choice, must be a nice, refreshing and relaxing change of pace.

  17. 317
    Macy Says:

True, he barely had a break last year what with filming three movies in the 5 months he had off.

  18. 318
    Cafélady Says:

@ladybug: #314 I believe you that you know your home and this area well. It shouldn’t sound like as if I would doubt your knowledge. This isn’t the case, of course. Of course, I don’t know the area of Los Feliz respectively was never there myself. I only thought that in this area a house like this, wouldn’t be uncommon and also that there are surely a lot of houses with similar architecture and a similar interior. So that it could be well possible that he also could have bought any different house. It was only a thought.

I also don’t know the entire work of the interviewer – but in the past we could read a lot of allegations about alex in several mags etc. And then we could discover that a lot of it only were rumors. And I don’t claim that the interviewer tells fairy tales here. Ok, may be it’s his house. No problem with it.

But what brings us this – to know this exactly? No matter whether it is actually his house or not – it’s a nice house with a beautiful view, no doubt. And I’m glad for him, that he has such possibilities now, if it is actual his house.

And yes, such things (that they try to find out as much as possible about him) are probably unavoidable with his degree of popularity now. May be that this is the reason why he has talked about it. Perhaps he thought that they would find out it anyway – so or so.
Like I said, it’s HW – and clear, it’s part of his job.

But sometimes I find it a bit confusing – what people want to know not all, about others I mean. LoL

  19. 319
    Cafélady Says:

@Macy: #312 “Well maybe he’s hunkered down with a nice toasty fire and some lamd stew.” LOL

This sounds pretty snug – and the lamb stew sounds delicious! :)
