'Texas Chainsaw 3D' Tops 2013's First Weekend Box Office
Texas Chainsaw 3D has topped this weekend’s box office with $23 million grossed!
This was the big screen debut for multi-platinum R&B superstar Trey Songz, who is currently on his Chapter V world tour. The seventh installment of the horror franchise marks one of the better openings for the first full weekend in January according to THR.
Coming in at a strong number two was Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained which brought in a $20.1 million gross.
The number three spot went to Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, having grossed $17.5 million. In it’s fourth weekend, The Hobbit currently has a domestic total gross of $263.8 million.
Rounding out the top five were Les Miserables with a total of $16.1 million and Parental Guidance which grossed $10.1.
