Uzo Aduba Breaks Silence on Julianne Hough's Crazy Eyes Costume Controversy

Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba, who plays Crazy Eyes on the hit Netflix series, has finally broken her silence on Julianne Hough‘s Halloween costume controversy.

If you remember, the 25-year-old actress caused quite the stir with her Crazy Eyes costume, where she wore black face.

“I think maybe it was an unfortunate event but she apologized and I feel like we can all move on,” Uzo told E! News while promoting the second season of the series.

After receiving much negative attention, Julianne responded and apologized for wearing the costume and painting her face.

i hate journalism like this
that uses sensationalism to get clicks
she didn’t “break her silence”
she just responded to a reporters question in a reasonable manner.

Perhaps Uzo should look twice in the mirror, before whining?

@xyz: perhaps u shouldnt be so damn rude and ignorant yes? yes. julianne didnt think about her outfit and how ppl would perceive it which happens and she apologized and Uzo accepts her apology but there is no need to bring her appearance into this cuz thats ur own opinion no need to jab at others.

@baby: White people are educated and make dumb mistakes like this because they don’t think about the effect it has on other people. But Black people do the same thing. Asian people do the same thing. Europeans do the same thing. Don’t act like it is just White people who do questionable things without full thought. She wasn’t being hateful in her costume, it was to celebrate her favorite character. It wasn’t made with cruel intentions. Saying “White people need to be educated” is just as offensive and racially charged as this costume.

I still don’t get why paparazzis need to fololw celebrities and to be aware of any tiny little moves they do. I mean let them breathe a little. And this is tiring to always look beautiful and full of make up. Natural is beautiful and not that bad actually
