Pete Seeger Dead - Folk Singer Dies at 94

Folk singer and songwriter Pete Seeger has died, according to The New York Times.

The 94-year-old singer passed away due to natural causes at the New York Presbyterian Hospital on Monday (January 27), his grandson Kitama Cahill Jackson confirms.

“He was a second father to me, he was a friend, he was a best friend,” Kitama told CNN. “He was just this wonderful, genuine person.”

In case you didn’t know, Pete was known for his classic songs “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” “Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)” and “If I Had a Hammer (The Hammer Song).”
