Joan Smalls Sports Dark Purple Lipstick at Met Ball 2014

Joan Smalls takes a risk with a dark lip as she attends the 2014 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The 25-year-old model accompanied the event with her dress designer Vera Wang. She wore a custom deep nude strapless silk tulle gown with a hand-tucked body and sheer skirt, accented by a center front skirt slit.

This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibition – is co-chaired by Bradley Cooper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and others.
