Benedict Cumberbatch's Gay Rights Campaign Won't Be Supported By Kate Middleton & Prince William
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman get into costume to film their hit BBC series Sherlock over the weekend in Bristol, England.
The 38-year-old Oscar nominee recently penned an an open letter petitioning the U.K. government to give a pardon to some 49,000 homosexuals who were treated prosecuted for being gay by the British government several decades ago.
In 2009, the British government gave Alan Turing an “unequivocal apology” for his mistreatment (Benedict portrays Alan in The Imitation Game). Unfortunately, according to The Telegraph, Prince William and Kate Middleton have rejected Benedict‘s plea for his gay rights campaign in the UK and a spokesperson said since it is a matter for the government that they could not comment.
