Over the weekend, Brian announced that he would take just a few days off, but it looks like it will be a much longer absence.

This news comes as no surprise since his false story about being in a helicopter that was shot down by fire in Iraq has sparked such a huge controversy.

NBC has got balls just suspending him and not firing him like he deserves.

NBC should of fired him. Brian Williams makes ten million dollars a year, 6 months unpaid is a slap in the face.

  • Bo Maplesden Kinch

He should be fired. He makes, probably, millions in his contract with NBC- so a 6 month vacation w/o pay is not going to hurt him at all. Again, fire him and blacklist him. Write your lying memoirs, Brian you lying bastard.
Couric? OMG NO! She’s not much better. Can’t we resurrect David Brinkley or Walter Cronkite? Ed Murrow?

NOT EVEN IN THE FACE-A LITTLE TAP ON THE WRIST. Yes, I’m yelling.

NBC has no balls -NBC is a eunuch. Apologies to Eunuchs for the comparison

Hey I agree, of your choices I’ll take Walter, always felt like I could trust him, he loved the space program and sailing like I did.
You sound like you grew up when I did, did you ever watch the program “That was the week that was”? Very interesting, they would take the top 2-3 stories of the week and report what the foreign newspapers had to say.

  • Bo Maplesden Kinch

Yes, I remember that show! I was a kid and my parents would watch and so would we kids. I remember Walter C reporting the day Kennedy was killed I was 11 and thought the world might end and I disliked Johnson and hated that he was sworn in so quicky. LOL I had just said that outloud and Walter explained on the telly why so quick-I loved him for that.

Let’s be upfront, who does NBC and its corporate media elk (ABC, CBC, FOX, MSNBC, etc) think they are fooling anyway? Who ever really believed the mainstream media was in it for the sake of journalistic integrity rather than the conduit it has morphed into; a rallying cry for corporate ethos and the oligarch status quo constituency (NBC after all was formerly owned by GE who makes bombs to kill people which NBC presumably was nonchalantly reporting without bias before imploring America to first invade Iraq).

Which of course engenders the deeper question what has become of media today, its role and what we ought to expect from it (apart from diversionary tales of how Miley Cyrus enjoys twerking her soul ) whilst the status quo and the ever expanding extreme disposition of the United States haves vs have nots goes unchecked and unreported or critically assuaged? But most importantly what led to Brian Williams lying in the first place and how did that tie in with the culture at large of his employer, NBC?
