Taylor Swift Song Subject Arrested for Child Abuse

Drew Hardwick, the subject of Taylor Swift’s song “Teardrops on My Guitar,” has been arrested for child abuse, reports Vulture.

The 27-year-old, his wife, and another man were arrested on Saturday (December 26) after a 3-year-old girl suffered “severe lacerations and bruises” while under their care and had to be airlifted to a hospital.

A 5-year-old girl who witnessed the scene reportedly said Drew had struck them both in the face.

Taylor told the Washington Post in 2008 that she had written “Teardrops” about Drew, a high school crush who had ignored her. She said Drew showed up at her house unannounced two years later, to which she responded, “Wow, you’re late.”
