Niall Horan Was Looking Forward to Seeing Zayn Malik Before Awkward AMAs Handshake

It turns out Niall Horan had been planning to say hi to Zayn Malik prior to their awkward run-in.

The 23-year-old “This Town” singer was seen giving his former One Direction band mate a quick handshake on video during the 2016 American Music Awards.

“I haven’t spoken to him in a few months or whatever, and haven’t seen him in a while, so I’m looking forward to seeing him,” Niall told ET before the show.
