'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Narrowly Wins Last Weekend Box Office of 2017

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has earned the top spot at the New Year’s Eve weekend box office, earning $52.4 million.

In total, the film has earned $517 total gross at the US box office, a massive number for a film that opened earlier in December! Worldwide, the film has grossed over one billion dollars!

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle came in second at the box office this weekend with $50.5 earned. The Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart film opened on December 20 and has been enjoying some strong holiday weekends!

Rounding out the top five were Pitch Perfect 3, The Greatest Showman, and Ferdinand, which earned $17.7, $15.2, and $11.6 million, respectively.
