DMX Is Going to Jail for One Year for Tax Evasion

DMX is going to prison for a year due to tax evasion.

The “X Gon Give It To Ya” rapper took responsibility for his actions in court on Wednesday (March 28) in New York City, according to TMZ.

He reportedly explained that he was “too old to be doing the things he’s doing.”

The judge gave him one year in prison, with three years of supervised release upon his exit from jail. Federal prosecutors were initially pushing for the maximum sentencing, which would have been five years in jail, especially because he failed a drug test while out on bond.

DMX pled guilty to one count of tax evasion this past November as part of a deal struck by his attorneys. Before the deal, he was facing 14 counts and 40 years in jail.
