Megyn Kelly Issues Apology to 'Today' Viewers Over Blackface Comments

Megyn Kelly has issued a response to her extremely controversial comments about blackface made this week during her hour of the Today show.

“I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry. I was wrong and I am sorry. One of the great parts of sitting in this chair is getting to discuss different points of view. Sometimes I talk and sometimes I listen, and yesterday I learned. I learned given the history of blackface being used in awful ways by racists in this country, it is not OK for that to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise,” she said.

Megyn continued, “I’ve never been a PC person but I do understand the value in being sensitive to our history, particularly on race and ethnicity. This past year has been so painful for many people of color. The country feels so divided, and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense. I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor and I want to be part of that. Thank you for listening and helping me listen too.”

If you didn’t see, this week, Megyn defended using blackface for Halloween costumes.

    She’s such trash.

I don’t watch her show. She’s seemed too robotic for my tastes.
I’m guessing though she meant people dressing as others including changes in skin color for the overall costume and not necessarily about the historic blackface.
A black kid can dress as Rocky without lightening the skin and a white kid can dress as Ali without darkening the skin.

Every time she opens her mouth she says something she has to apologize for. Why doesn’t she just shut up?
