Beto O'Rourke Covers 'Vanity Fair,' Announces Presidential Bid

Beto O’Rourke has announced that he is going to run for president in 2020!

The 46-year-old former Congressman from Texas announced the news the morning after his cover for Vanity Fair, shot by the legendary Annie Leibovitz, was released.

Beto released a video on social media to reveal his decision to run. He captioned it, “I am running to serve you as the next president. The challenges we face are the greatest in living memory. No one person can meet them on their own. Only this country can do that, and only if we build a movement that includes all of us.”

Last year, Beto ran for senate in Texas and lost to incumbent Ted Cruz. He finished less than three percentage points behind Cruz, closer than any other Democrat has come to beating a Republican in that race in years.
