Madonna Emotionally Sends a Message to the LGBTQ Community: 'Never Give Up Hope' - Watch!

Madonna is expressing her continued support for the LGBTQ community.

The Madame X pop icon, who was just awarded the Advocate for Change Award at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards in New York City, spoke candidly about her relationship with the LGBTQ community in an interview with Today published on Tuesday (May 7).

“I lived through a lot of painful moments and lost a lot of friends…it was not an easy journey, when you look back and remember that, and the people that you loved that you lost and wish they were there with you,” she said while recalling her lifelong support of the gay community.

“I felt compelled to come to the rescue of the LGBTQ community back in the very beginning because they were always there for me.”

She also explained the one message that she hoped people would take away from her acceptance speech: “Never give up hope. Never give up…no matter what.”
