The finale episode of season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy has left us on the edge of our seats!

After the finale, showrunner Krista Vernoff opened up about leaving the season on a cliffhanger – and to say that she hopes people will be talking about the finale all summer long.

It was a creative decision. It was a cliffhanger,” Krista shared with Hollywood Reporter. “I want people to come back [in the fall] and talk all summer and wonder what happens to him. We have not mapped it out. The writers come back June 3, I’m on vacation for two weeks and then we’ll hit it. What I love about act six of our finale is we gave ourselves so much to play with for next season on all the storylines.”

Grey’s Anatomy was recently renewed for a record-breaking 16th and 17th season.

In the finale, Meredith finally professed her love for Andrew – while he is in jail after covering for her after she committed insurance fraud to help a family who had been terrorized by immigration reform efforts. Meanwhile, Chief-of-Staff Bailey fired Meredith, Alex, and Richard for their roles in the offense.

Teddy gives birth to a baby girl – who she names after her best friend Allison who died on 9/11 – with the help of Amelia. Owen then professes his love for Teddy, even though she has new boyfriend Koracick at home setting up baby furniture.

The episodes ends with Jesse running into the tick fog amid a multiple-car pile-up. He then fails to return, leaving Maggie terrified wondering what happened to him.
