'Lord of the Rings' TV Series Adds Markella Kavenagh as First Cast Member!

Amazon is currently working on a The Lord of the Rings television series and the first cast member has just been revealed!

Australian actress Markella Kavenagh is in talks for a role in the upcoming series. Variety reports her character will be named Tyra, though details are not immediately available.

Markella has been seen in some Australian television series, though she has not yet appeared in any American projects just yet.

Not much is known about the new series, except that it will take place before the events in The Lord of the Rings‘ first book “The Fellowship of the Ring.”
