MLB's Ryan Costello Dead at 23

Ryan Costello, a third baseman who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners and traded to the Minnesota Twins a year later, has been found dead at the age of 23.

Ryan was in New Zealand to play for the Auckland Tuatara of the Australian Baseball League later this year. He was found in his hotel room and “preliminary indications suggest” he passed away from natural causes, ESPN reports.

“We are saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Ryan Costello,” the Twins organization said in a statement. “The entire Twins organization sends our most sincere condolences to Ryan‘s family, friends, coaches, and teammates.”
