Nielsen reports that the movie drew an average audience of 13.16 million viewers from November 27 to December 1, with a total of 17.1 million unique viewers watching at least some of the film.

The movie was most popular with viewers ages 50 and up (half the average viewership), with men 50-64 making up 20% of the audience on premiere day and 15% of the five-day audience.

Netflix points out that the numbers do not reflect those who watched worldwide, or those who watched on other devices.

To compare, the Breaking Bad follow-up El Camino brought in 8.2 million in its first five days, while Bird Box brought in 16.9 million.
