Paul Walter Hauser Got 'Richard Jewell's Mother Approval!

Paul Walter Hauser stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night (Deember 12) and dished about playing Richard Jewell in Clint Eastwood‘s new movie.

The film follows American security guard, Richard Jewell, who heroically saves thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is unjustly vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist.

The 33-year-old actor told Jimmy that he got approval from Richard’s real-life mother Barbara “Bobi” Jewell for the role.

“She goes, ‘you look just like Richard, you look just like my son.’ She says, ‘you’re doing things like him that you don’t even know that you’re doing that are like him’,” Paul expressed. “It felt like the ultimate sign off to get her approval. There were just some inherent stuff.”

Paul Walter Hauser also talked about getting his start in acting, and reveals what it was like working with Clint Eastwood.
