Cheer's Monica Aldama Reacts to Jerry Harris' Arrest & Child Porn Charges

Monica Aldama, the head coach on the Netflix series Cheer, is reacting to the arrest of her former student Jerry Harris.

The 21-year-old cheerleader was arrested on Thursday (September 17) after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.

Jerry was arrested on “production of child pornography charges” after being accused of soliciting nude photos from two 14-year-old boys, as well as allegedly engaging in sexual conversations with them and asking one of the boys to meet up for sex.

Monica is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars and she took to Instagram after the arrest to share her thoughts.

“My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I am devastated by this shocking, unexpected news,” Monica wrote in her statement. “Our children must be protected from abuse and exploitation, and I’m praying hard for the victims and everyone affected. Please respect our privacy as our family mourns during this heartbreaking time.”

Jerry‘s legal team denies the allegations.
