Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip Have Received the COVID-19 Vaccine, Palace Explains Why News Went Public

It has been confirmed that Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, have been administered their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news and while such a “private medical matter” wouldn’t be shared with the public, the news was revealed to prevent further speculation.

CELEBS WHO RECEIVED THE VACCINE: See who else has already gotten it!

Elizabeth, 94, and Philip, 99, are both in the high risk category because of their ages. In the UK, people who are 80 and over are in the first group of people who will receive the vaccine.

A source told the BBC that the vaccines were administered on Saturday (January 9) at Windsor Castle. It is not known which vaccine they received.

The Queen made a rare public appearance last month alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton and it was later revealed what her grandson said to her during the visit.
