Damien Chazelle broke an amazing Oscars record tonight!

The 32-year-old director took home the award for Best Director for his work on La La Land at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

Damien is now the youngest winner of the award in history.

Damien beat out Denis Villeneuve for Arrival, Mel Gibson for Hacksaw Ridge, Kenneth Lonergan for Manchester by the Sea, and Barry Jenkins for Moonlight.

“This was a movie about love, and I was lucky enough to fall in love while making it,” he told the crowd.

Emma Stone stands on stage to accept the award for Best Actress at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

The 28-year-old actress won the award for her work in the movie musical La La Land! It was her second nomination after previously being recognized for the film Birdman.

“I still have a lot of growing and learning and work to do, and this guy is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey and I’m so grateful for that,” Emma said to conclude her speech.

Emma brought her brother Spencer as her date to the show and he was beaming from the front row throughout her acceptance speech, which you can watch below.

It was a great night honoring the best in film at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

The big winner of the night was the movie La La Land, which picked up six awards including Best Director for Damien Chazelle, and Best Actress for Emma Stone.

Moonlight won the award for Best Picture after La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner.

La La Land was nominated for 14 awards and it didn’t sweep in all of the categories, leaving room for other films like Manchester By the Sea, Moonlight, Hacksaw Ridge, and others to receive recognition as well.

Bonnie and Clyde stars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway made a surprise appearance at the end of the night to present the award for Best Picture together.

Casey Affleck just won Best Actor at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) for his work in Manchester By the Sea.

The 41-year-old actor was nearly speechless on stage and begun his speech by thanking Denzel Washington, another nominee in the category, for teaching him how to act in his childhood.

“I’m really proud to be a part of this community…I’m just dumbfounded that I’m included,” Casey said in his speech.

Barry Jenkins and co-writer Tarell Alvin McCraney hit the stage to accept their award at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

The Moonlight writers won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay for their work on the film. Barry, who directed the indie hit, adapted the script for Tarell‘s play.

“All you people who feel like there’s no mirror for you… we have your back… for the next 4 years we won’t forget you,” Barry said during the speech.

“This goes out to all those black and brown boys, girls and non-gender conforming who don’t see themselves… this is for you,” Tarell added.

Jennifer Aniston struggled to hold it together she talked about beloved actor Bill Paxton‘s untimely passing at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

Bill‘s death rattled Hollywood yesterday. The actor passed away due to complications from surgery.

Though Bill was well-loved figure in Hollywood, his passing would not have been able to be included in the In Memorium segment, which is completed weeks in advance.

It looks like Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel‘s feud will never end – in fact, Jimmy maybe just took their battle to the next level.

While Ben Affleck and Matt were stepping on stage to present at the 2017 Oscars, the announcer said, “Please welcome two-time Academy Award winner Ben Affleck�”and guest.”

Matt couldn’t believe he was announced as “guest.” Then, Ben got a chance to speak, but every time Matt tried to speak, the music became so loud as to try and get him off stage ASAP. Turns out, Jimmy was conducting the orchestra to lead him off stage. LOL! Watch below.
