Chad Michael Murray is the latest actor to take on a killer role.

The 39-year-old One Tree Hill and Riverdale actor has signed on to play infamous serial killer Ted Bundy in the upcoming movie American Boogeyman, Screen Daily reports.

Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming thriller: “Set in a gritty and decadent 1970s America, American Boogeyman follows the elusive and charming killer and the manhunt that brought him to justice involving the detective and the FBI rookie who coined the phrase ‘serial killer.’”

Chad is the latest actor to take on the role of Ted Bundy. He’s also been portrayed by Zac Efron in the 2019 movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, James Marsters in the 2008 movie The Capture of the Green River Killer, Cary Elwes in the 2004 movie The Riverman, Billy Campbell in the 2003 movie The Stranger Beside Me, Michael Reilly Burke in the 2002 movie Ted Bundy, and Mark Harmon in the 1986 movie The Deliberate Stranger.

American Boogeyman, written and directed by Daniel Farrands, is scheduled to be released on September 20. The movie will also star Insidious actress Lin Shaye and Teen Wolf actress Holland Roden.

If you missed it, Chad recently shared a super rare photo of his daughter on social media.

Bruce Willis and Jesse Metcalfe are set to star together in The Fortress, Deadline reports.

The two actors will star as father and son in the film, which also stars Chad Michael Murray and Kelly Greyson.

The story revolves around a top-secret resort for retired U.S. intelligence officers. A group of criminals led by Balzary (Murray) breach the compound, hellbent on revenge on Robert (Willis), forcing the retired officer and his son (Metcalfe) to save the day.

Set up as a trilogy, the first film kicked off production today (May 3) in Puerto Rico, and is set for a back to back film shoot, with the third film happening at a later date.

The Fortress was developed by Emmett/Furla Films co-CEO Randall Emmett and Emile Hirsch and the scripts were written by Alan Horsnail.

The 39-year-old One Tree Hill actor posted a photo on social media featuring his 4-year-old daughter.

Chad posted the photo to his Instagram on Monday (March 29), showing himself giving his daughter a big hug.

“The snuggles are real,” he captioned the post.

“No better duty than #daddyduty. Love our family.”

Chad and his wife of six years, Sarah Roemer, also share a 5-year-old son. He was previously married to Sophia Bush from 2005 to 2006.

And his co-stars approve of the sweet family photo!

“This is my favorite picture of you ever!!!!!!” wrote Hilarie Burton.

Chad and Sarah were seen snapping some selfies and sharing a lot of laughs while having a fun family day in Malibu. She posted one of the selfies on Instagram, which you can see below.

“Stealing a kiss on the beach. #Malibu #love 🌊😘 ☀️,” Sarah captioned the photo.

Chad Michael Murray is using his platform to give back a little more to a Black organization.

Taking to Instagram, the 38-year-old former One Tree Hill star announced that from now on, proceeds from all of his signed jerseys bearing the #3 with the Scott name on the back, will go to benefit Black Girls Code.

“This organization really inspires me. They’re working to educate young black girls on computer programming and coding for the future. So so cool,” Chad wrote on Instagram. “‘Black Girls CODE’S ultimate goal is to provide African-American youth with the skills to occupy some of the 1.4 million computing job openings expected to be available in the U.S. by 2020, and to train 1 million girls by 2040.’”

Chad added, “I can tell you this Lucas Scott would be proud his jersey was going to aid in such great work🙌 and again – I’ll be personally signing each one on the #3 on the back. #LucasScott #OTH #BlackGirlsCode @blackgirlscode @represent.”

The stars of One Tree Hill are together again!

Hilarie Burton took to Instagram to share a ton of selfies from the One Tree Hill Convention on Saturday (February 22) in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Hilarie, who played Peyton Sawyer on the show, shared pics with Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott), James Lafferty (Nathan Scott), Antwon Tanner (Skills Taylor), Robert Buckley (Clay Evans), Michael Trucco (Cooper Lee), and Jana Kramer (Alex Dupre).

“I got a job when I was 20 years old that gave me some of the most important relationships and experiences of my life,” Hilarie wrote along with the photos. “I didn’t take nearly enough pictures this weekend and didn’t get photo evidence of everyone, but I love @raenia23 at @fwbcharityevents for bringing us all together. Thick and thin, our shared history has been a cornerstone in my life. Love you guys. Xxx”

One Tree Hill ran on The CW for nine seasons, from 2003 to 2012.

Chad Michael Murray had a near-death experience when he was only 15 and he’s opening up about what happened during his teenage years.

The 38-year-old former One Tree Hill actor talked about suffering from twisted intestines during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show.

“They didn’t know what was wrong,” Chad said. Doctors had difficulty figuring out what happened because of his fit physique.

“This sounds so stupid — and trust me, I’m not on an ego trip when I say this — but because I was in physical good condition, my abdomen was tight and when I started bleeding internally, my stomach didn’t expand,” he said. “Basically, my abs kept it flat so the doctors couldn’t tell I was bleeding. They saw my red and white blood cells dropping but they didn’t know where it was going.”

“I almost died,” Chad continued. “They had a priest at the end of my bed. I remember, it was the only time I ever saw my dad cry — well, one of two times.”

Chad says an on-duty nurse helped save his life.

“[She] saved my life that night,” he said. “Her name was Sandy, I’ll never forget her, we took her chocolates for years after until she moved hospitals. But she got four units of blood and saved my life that night, against the grain. She just did it. She locked the door, gave me four units of blood, and saved my life.”

Chad credits this experience as what motivated him to become an actor.

“The one thing that really saved me from that moment in life where I missed Christmas and I missed New Years was television and film. … These movies and television would be on and I would be like, ‘I want to do that man. I want to give people something to smile about. That’s what I want to do. I want to entertain so people can stop worrying about the mundane aspects of life.’ Maybe you’re going through something tough, I want to pull you out of it for two hours,” he said.
