Naya Rivera's 'Glee' Co-Stars Launch Fundraiser For Her Favorite Charity

Naya Rivera is being remembered by her Glee cast in a very special way this holiday season.

Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale and many more from the Glee cast have teamed up for the SNIXXMASs Charity Drive, which will benefit one of Naya‘s favorite charities, Alexandria House, a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles that provides safe housing for women and children.

“If you were lucky enough to know Naya, you know she threw some epic parties,” the GoFundMe page reads about the fundraiser. “The best of them all was her annual Christmas party, which she dubbed Snixxmas. Snixxmas was like Naya herself… sparkling, fabulous and one hell of a good time! But it wasn’t only glitz, glamour and gay apparel. Every holiday season, Naya found ways to give back.”

It continues, “Recently, Naya began working with a local non-profit in Los Angeles called Alexandria House. She not only raised and contributed funds for them, but also volunteered her time and effort to the organization.”

Heather also added another note on her own Instagram page, writing that Naya “always inspired me because she never let a holiday season go by without giving back to those in need. We’re keeping Naya’s spirit alive this holiday season by raising funds for one of her favorite organizations, Alexandria House. Please, give what you can and help spread Snixxmas cheer.”

Naya sadly passed away earlier this year after accidentally drowning in Lake Piru in California during a weekend trip with her only son, Josey Dorsey.

Her ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, just recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Get all the details here…

The 34-year-old actress, who played Mercedes Jones on the Fox series, performed a new song called “A Moment,” which was seemingly written about Naya‘s tragic death.

“We both lost an amazing friend in a tragic accident and we both will miss her forever,” he said.

Lil Rel further discussed the performance on Twitter by saying, “Quick backstory the musical guest on this show backed out and I called them and asked if we can do this tribute and let Amber kill it the Kimmel team said yes!!! Thank You!!!”

Glee's Amber Riley Says Naya Rivera & Cory Monteith's Names Every Day to Honor Their Lives

Amber Riley has written another touching tribute for her late Glee co-star Naya Rivera, who drowned in California’s Lake Piru after heroically saving her son’s life.

In the tribute that Amber posted to Instagram on Thursday (July 23), she said she says both Naya and their late co-star Cory Monteith‘s names every day to honor their lives.

“I’m so mad the world will never see how high you could have soared. Her brain was brilliant. She was smart and as quick as a whip. Always had me in stitches, we would be in tears laughing so hard at one another,” Amber said. “There was never competition, or shade, or intimidation with us. Just pure adoration and mutual respect. You deserved better. You were so much more than just this show. Your talent outshined us all so many times!”

“Favorite Naya Moment: tour bus to London, Naya greasing her scalp with Doo Gro oil, a plastic cap and a silk bonnet 😂 my sister said ‘oh Naya you blackity black black’ we burst out into laughter! We needed it too because we just wanted to get home to our families. We were alike in that way. We love hard, and protect our own, and we don’t take no shit from anyone (Kevin is literally the byproduct of US 😂) We can either slice you with our words, or bring you comfort with that same breath. Dealer’s choice. I say your name everyday and hold you in my heart, just like I do Cory,” she continued.
