Aziz Ansari Won't Do A Fake Indian Accent to Get a Role

Aziz Ansari takes the latest cover of New York Magazine.

Here’s what the 34-year-old Master of None creator/star had to share with the mag:

On refusing to do fake Indian accents: “When I first started out, there were a few times where it was like, ‘We want you to come in for this thing.’ I’d be like, ‘Do I have to do an accent?’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to do it.’ I have nothing against people that do it, but I just kind of decided in my head that if I did that one time, I would get asked to do it every time, because even then I knew that people have a very limited imagination for what your talent is.”

On casting his dad and Muslim representation on TV: “If every time you see a Muslim person, it’s the f-cking guy from 24 or Homeland, yeah, it’s going to shape your opinion of all these people. If every time you saw a Muslim person on TV, and it’s my dad, you’ll be like, ‘These goofy people! They’re probably gonna ask me for a bite of my sandwich.’ I don’t think Islamophobic people have hate in their heart. I’m not saying it’s justified, but representation is part of the problem.”

On whether there’s going to be a season three: “I don’t know if we’re going to do a season three. I wouldn’t be surprised if I needed a looonng break before I could come back to it. I’ve got to become a different guy before I write a third season, is my personal thought. I’ve got to get married or have a kid or something. I don’t have anything else to say about being a young guy being single in New York eating food around town all the time.”

Chris Brown Responds to Aziz Ansari's Comments on 'SNL'

Chris Brown is speaking out to let everyone know he is not happy about being compared to Donald Trump during Aziz Ansari‘s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

“I’m sure there’s a lot of people that voted for Trump the same way a lot of people listen to the music of Chris Brown, where it’s like, ‘Hey, man! I’m just here for the tunes,” Aziz said in the opening monologue. “I don’t know about that other stuff. I just like the dancing and the music. I don’t condone the extracurriculars.”

“If you think about it, Donald Trump is basically the Chris Brown of politics,” Aziz added. “And ‘Make America Great Again’ is his ‘These hoes ain’t loyal.’”
