Tim Burton just made a very rare appearance on the red carpet with his two kids!

The 63-year-old director was joined by 18-year-old Billy Ray and 13-year-old Nell while attending his “Close Encounter” tribute at the 2021 Rome Film Fest on Saturday (October 23) in Rome, Italy.

For those who don’t know, Billy Ray and Nell‘s mom is actress Helena Bonham Carter. She and Tim started dating in 2001 and announced their separation in December 2014.

It was recently announced that Helena is confirmed to reprise her role as Eudoria Holmes in the upcoming Netflix sequel, Enola Holmes 2. She is the matriarch of the Holmes family, including legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his rebellious teen sister, the title character.

Helena Bonham Carter and husband Tim Burton spend time together at the Winter Wonderland Launch at Hyde Park on Thursday (November 21) in London, England.

The 47-year-old actress and the 55-year-old actor were joined by their two kids Nell and Billy Ray while enjoying hot dogs and a few rides.

Helena Bonham Carter enjoys a beautiful Sunday out in Malibu with son Billy Ray, 4, and daughter Nell, 11 months.

The 42-year-old actress was recently cast in her husband Tim Burton‘s film Alice in Wonderland. (The couple also worked together on Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish and Planet of the Apes.)

Carter will play the Red Queen, who has an affinity for crying out, “Off with their heads!” Anne Hathaway is set to play White Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. More Here! »

The Burton family has yet to release the name of their daughter to the public yet. Rumors have been running around that her name is Indiana Rose Burton but their rep has denied the claim.

Burton, 49, was accompanied by actress partner Helena Bonham Carter, 41, and son Billy-Ray, 4. Helena gave birth to a daughter nearly two weeks ago, tomorrow.

Tim‘s most recent movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, a blood-gushing adaptation from Stephen Sondheim‘s 1979 hit, is out in theaters now. It came in 5th at the box office this past weekend, pulling in a healthy $9.4 million. Hollywood, keep making more musicals!

It was also announced that Tim will be directing a film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, which will feature live action and animation! WEEEEEEEEEEE! Filming of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is scheduled to begin early 2008. Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast) is working the script.
