Country singer Chris Lane proposed to former Bachelor winner Lauren Bushnell – and she said “yes!”

“I knew she wouldn’t want some elaborate crazy proposal,” the 34-year-old country singer told People. “So, I decided to keep it pretty casual. I asked her parents for different places in Portland I could potentially take her to, but after a lot of thought I decided doing it at the family cookout would be the most laid-back setting and that she’d appreciate the simplicity of me proposing to her in her parents’ backyard.”

“I was initially worried that doing it on Father’s Day might not be the best move, but her dad, Dave, said that it could only add to his Father’s Day and that’s when I decided Sunday, June 16 was the day,” he added. “Shout out to Lauren’s parents, Dave and Kris, for having the yard in tip-top shape!”

Chris proposed with a song, and Lauren‘s reaction? “I lost it,” she added. “It was the happiest moment of my life!”

Lauren previously appeared on Ben Higgins‘ season of The Bachelor and she said “yes” to his proposal at the end, but they later split.

The 34-year-old singer and the 29-year-old Bachelor alum posed for pictures together on the red carpet at the 2019 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday (June 5) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

The 34-year-old country singer started dating Lauren, a former contestant and winner on The Bachelor, back in November. They recently moved in together in Nashville!

Lauren took to Instagram earlier in the day to share a photo of her and a friend posing with Chris at a hotel in Vegas.

“Can’t believe we met @iamchrislane last night,” she captioned the pic.

The 28-year-old reality star, who got engaged to Ben Higgins on The Bachelor a few years ago, recently debuted her new relationship.

Chris, 34, is a country singer and the couple stepped out for the first time the week of the 2018 CMA Awards.

His rep confirmed the news to ET, writing, “It’s brand new and they are enjoying spending time together.”

The pair walked their first red carpet together on Tuesday evening (November 13) at the 2018 BMI Country Awards in Nashville, Tenn.

Lauren is known for winning Ben Higgins‘ season of The Bachelor, but they split and ended their engagement back in May of 2017.

Chris is no stranger to The Bachelor franchise either, having performed during an episode on Nick Viall‘s season.

Dierks Bentley and Jake Owen hit the red carpet at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The guys were both dressed in colorful suits and they were joined Dierks‘ wife Cassidy Black and Jake‘s girlfriend Erica Hartlein.

Some of the other country stars in attendance were Russell Dickerson with wife Kailey, Brantley Gilbert with wife Amber Cochran, Chris Lane, and Dustin Lynch.

Dierks was nominated for Video of the Year and Russell was up for New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Brett Y. and Chris were both nominated for New Male Vocalist of the Year, but the award went to Jon Pardi.
