Anton Yelchin and Christopher Mintz-Plasse premiere their film Fright Night at the Deauville American Film Festival on Saturday (September 3) in Deauville, France.

Earlier in the day, the two co-stars promoted their horror flick at a photo call.

Anton talked to MovieLine about paying homage to the 1985 original while appealing to a new generation.

“I think a lot of that, Marti Noxon’s script took care of. It was respectful to the original Fright Night and retained certain elements of it – the humor, some of the gore. And at the same time, sort of re-envisioned the situation, as Marti said, of teenagers that are already well-versed in the genre,” he explained.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Dave Franco, and Anton Yelchin meet up at a screening for their new film, Fright Night, at the ArcLight Hollywood on Wednesday (August 17) in Hollywood.

The three actors star in the horror flick, which is a remake of the 1985 film of the same name, that centers around a teen (Yelchin) who suspects his new neighbor, Jerry, is a vampire (Colin Farrell).

Colin recently chatted with Para Todos about the vampire trend in Hollywood.

“I know why it gets made. People who were initially behind the notion of making this film weren’t doing it for artistic reasons and if they hire intelligently – which I think they did by hiring Craig Gillespie to direct the film – they get someone who has an astute knowledge of cinema and film,” he shared.

Cameron Diaz poses in the winners’ room at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 7) at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.

The 38-year-old actress picked up the award for Best Actress Comedy for her work in Bad Teacher. Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton and Kick-Ass‘s Christopher Mintz-Plasse presented the surfboard to Cameron!

Tom and co-star Rupert Grint accepted the award for Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. They also presented the award for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy to co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who accepted the award via satellite.

FYI: Cameron wore an A.L.C. strapless “Astrid” dress, killer Burakuyan shoes, Vhernier ring, “Futturo Ring” by Vita Fede, and a Chloe clutch.

Colin Farrell is a super scary vampire in the latest set of stills from his next movie, Fright Night.

Fright Night is about a teenager who suspects that his new neighbor (Farrell) is a vampire.

The film also stars Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette, Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and David Tennant.

The horror movie, which is a remake of a 1985 movie of the same title, is set to be released on August 19.

Jimmy Kimmel got revenge on longtime girlfriend Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon. (Remember earlier this month, Silverman admitted to effing Damon.)

Kimmel created a rebuttal music video revealing his newfound romance with Matt‘s childhood friend Ben Affleck on the TV special Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards.
