Anna Faris‘ animated flick Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 has taken the top slot at this weekend’s box office, earning $35 million this weekend!

Coming in at number two was last weekend’s big smash Prisoners, which took in $11.2 million.

The Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl film Rush, which opened this past Friday, took the number three slot after raking in $11 million.

Battling it out for the fourth and fifth slots were new openers Don Jon, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson, and Baggage Claim, starring Paula Patton, which earned $9.5 million and $9.4 million, respectively.

It was a tough weekend race for all, with four new movies opening in the same weekend!

Anna Faris is the center of attention while attending the press day event for her latest film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 on Monday (August 5) in Culver City, Calif.

The 36-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Bill Hader and Benjamin Bratt to promote the film, which hits theaters on Friday, September 27.

Last week, Anna attended CBS’ 2013 Summer Television Critics Association Tour to promote her new show Mom.

“I had left the [Mom] script on the kitchen counter, and my husband picked it up. And he read the first page, and he said, ‘Whatever you’re doing, put it down right now.’ He’s like, ‘This is you.’ And it felt like that,” Anna told Us Weekly about the show.

The 36-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Bill Hader and Terry Crews for the panel and they were all seen putting on some of their animated character’s costumes!

Anna Faris and her fellow Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 cast members are really getting into character as they dress up as their animated characters in these hilarious new photos, provided exclusively to JustJared.com!

The 36-year-old actress, who voices Sam Sparks, is joined in the photo series by Andy Samberg (Brent) dressed up like a chicken, Bill Hader (Flint Lockwood), Terry Crews (Earl Devereaux), Will Forte (Chester V), and Kristen Schaal (Barb).

The cast is prepping for the film’s September 27th release and tomorrow’s Comic-Con panel in Hall H!
