The new horror film Evil Dead Rise is expected to be this weekend’s hottest new movie and fans are ready to be scared!

Evil Dead will be heading to Starz as a new television series… and the film’s original star Bruce Campbell will even be reprising his role as Ash!

Here is the show’s logline (via Entertainment Weekly): “Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons �”personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its ‘Evil’ grip.”

Bruce played Ash in three of the horror series’ films and he produced the remake that hit theaters in 2013. Sam Raimi, the original film’s director, will executive produce the series in addition to writing and directing the first episode.

“I’m really excited to bring this series to the Evil Dead fans worldwide – it’s going to be everything they have been clamoring for: serious deadite ass-kicking and plenty of outrageous humor,” Bruce said in a statement.

The 23-year-old actress was joined by director Fede Alvarez at the event to sign Blu-rays and posters for fans.

The 23-year-old actress was joined on the red carpet by director Fede Alvarez.

“It’s hard to go home, have a nice dinner, get eight hours of sleep after you’re spending your day screaming, ‘Come down here so I can suck your [...], pretty boy, your little sister’s being raped in hell!’”Jane shared about filming the movie.

She added, “It’s hard to unwind. I definitely had nightmares, and the whole crew said the same thing. You consume yourself with this world for months, and it affects your personal life.”

Evil Dead has topped this weekend’s box office with a gross of $26 million!

According to THR, the remake of Sam Raimi‘s 1981 cult horror story fared better than most scary flicks.

Coming in at number two for the second week in a row was the animated film The Croods, voiced by Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone, earning $21.1 million and bringing its total to $125.8 million – becoming only the second title of 2013 to do so, after Oz the Great and Powerful.

The number three slot went to G.I. Joe: Retaliation, starring Dwayne Johnson, which also grossed $21.1 million after debuting in the No. 1 spot last week.

Rounding out the top five were the 3D re-release of Steven Spielberg‘s Jurassic Park and Gerard Butler‘s Olympus Has Fallen, which made $18.2 million and $10.4 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, The Host, which stars Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, Max Irons, and Saoirse Ronan, brought in $5.2 million in its second week.

At the specialty box office, The Place Beyond the Pines, starring Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, expanded to a total of 30 theaters in its second weekend, grossing $695,000.

It is estimated that Evil Dead will debut this weekend at the box office in the number one spot with $27 million, according to Deadline. That’s great news for the studio, considering the horror flick only cost $17 million to produce.

The 23-year-old actress stars alongside Shiloh Fernandez as Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety who heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror.

Evil Dead will hit theaters everywhere on April 12.
