Jon Voight shows support for his new show, Lone Star, at the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday (August 2) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 71-year-old actor stars as the leader of a family that owns an oil company in Texas. “I sold it to [the network] as Dallas without the cheese,” creator/writer Kyle Killen said (via Salt Lake Tribune).

Also pictured inside is Jon with son James Haven at the premiere of Angelina Jolie‘s new film, Salt, in Hollywood on July 19.

Jon Voight is putting President Barack Obama on blast once again. Here’s the latest open letter from the 71-year-old actor via Washington Times:

“You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone’s enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm’s way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.

“You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.

“You have brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover. I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realize your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.

“With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel, Jon Voight.”

Last June, Jon called Barack a false prophet.

Jon Voight has signed on as a lead in Fox’s drama pilot Midland.

According to THR. Midland “centers on Bob (Jimmy Wolk), a con artist juggling two lives in two Texas cities with two women (Adrianne Palicki, Eloise Mumford), one of whom (Palicki), is the daughter of a Texas legend (Voight), described as a gravely voiced titan equally at home in boots or a three-piece suit.”

This would be Voight‘s first regular TV series role. He most recently had an arc as villain Jonas Hodges on the seventh season of 24.

Angelina Jolie gets a surprise visit from her 6-year-old son Pax Jolie-Pitt on the set of her new movie, The Tourist, in Paris, France on Thursday (February 25).

Angie‘s dad Jon Voight recently spent some quality time with the entire Jolie-Pitt clan in Venice. He released a statement via his rep to People: “[Jon] wanted to spend the day with all of them. It was wonderful. He’s crazy about his grandkids. He thinks each and every one is very special. Jon says Angie and Brad are the world’s greatest parents. They’re very hands-on.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt enjoy a family day out with their kids — Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 3 — down Venice’s Grand Canal in Italy on Sunday (February 21).

Surprisingly, Angelina‘s father, Hollywood actor Jon Voight, also came along for the ride.

Angie and Jon haven’t always been on the best of terms but reportedly reconciled a few months ago. Glad to see the father-daughter relationship is all patched up and stronger than ever!

Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie have settled their differences and are on good terms again, Jon tells Us Weekly.

“We’re in touch, but not regularly,” Jon said. “We love each other and that’s the most important thing.”

Angelina, 34, stopped speaking to Jon in 2001 after he appeared on Access Hollywood asking Ang to seek help for “serious mental problems.”

A source said that Angelina made contact with Jon first, adding, “Brad has been supportive – a key factor in her reaching out.”

Jon Voight blasted President Barack Obama at the Republican congressional fundraiser dinner at the Washington Convention Center on Monday (June 8) in Washington D.C. Here are snippets from the 70-year-old actor’s fiery speech:

“Are we supposed to sitting and waiting, watching for the possibility of a new Holocaust? Who’s going to take the responsibility to keep America, I mean Israel, safe. I’ll tell you why this really scares the hell out of me. Everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disastrous.

“It saddens me greatly to think we were the great powerful good in the world. We as Americans knew America to be strong. We were the liberators of the entire world. We are becoming a weak nation.

“Obama really thinks he is a soft-spoken Julius Caesar. He think he’s going to conquer the world with his soft-spoken sweet talk and really think he’s going to bring all of the enemies of the world into a little playground, where they’ll swing each other back and forth.

“We and we alone are the right frame of mind to free this nation from this Obama oppression. Let’s give thanks to [Republicans] for not giving up and staying the course to bring an end to this false prophet, Obama.”
