The Amazon young adult drama series Panic has been canceled after just one season on the streaming service.

The series was written and created by Lauren Oliver, who also wrote the best-selling novel that served as the source material.

Panic focused “on a small town in America where every year the graduating seniors engage in a competition they believe is their one chance to escape. But this year, the rules have changed — and they must decide how much they are willing to risk in order to get out.”

The new series Panic on Amazon Prime Video is quickly garnering a fan base after being released this weekend!

The 10-episode first season is based on the novel by Lauren Oliver, who also wrote and created the series.

Panic takes place in a small Texas town, where every summer the graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges, winner takes all, which they believe is their one and only chance to escape their circumstances and make their lives better. But this year, the rules have changed – the pot of money is larger than ever and the game has become even more dangerous. The players will come face to face with their deepest, darkest fears and be forced to decide how much they are willing to risk in order to win.

The cast features many new faces who are bound to become big stars, including Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Camron Jones, and Ray Nicholson (the son of Jack Nicholson!).

Facts of Life alum Nancy McKeon is set to compete on Dancing with the Stars season 27, which will premiere in just a few weeks!

The announcement was made on Good Morning America on Wednesday (September 5). It was also revealed that she’s paired with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy.

If you don’t know, Val has won DWTS twice with Rumer Willis (Season 20) and Laurie Hernandez (Season 23).

The new season of Dancing with the Stars will debut on Monday (September 24) at 8/7c on ABC. Be sure to tune in! The full cast will be revealed next week.
