Paula Patton waves hello to her fans at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actress wore a custom Vera Wang rose quartz strapless silk faille gown with pleated detail at the bodice and gently a-lined skirt.

“I always love a lip,” Paula recently shared with People about her makeup routine. “A berry color, or even a soft nude. Plus a little color on my cheeks. It makes such a big difference on your face.”

This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition – is co-chaired by Carey Mulligan, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and designer Miuccia Prada.

Paula Patton shows off her can of Pepsi Next at the Drink It To Believe It campaign celebration held at The Grove on Monday (April 9) in Los Angeles.

That same day, the 36-year-old actress went on Extra to discuss the DVD and Blu-ray release of her film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, out on April 17.

Paula is also in talks to star in the film 2 Guns alongside Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, according to Deadline.

Earlier in the week, Paula was honored at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, along with celebs such as Kerry Washington and Octavia Spencer.

Kerry, 35, who is Essence‘s March cover girl, and Paula, 36, were both honored at the event, which highlights stars “who, through their work, have helped illuminate positive images of Black women worldwide.”

Oscar nominee Octavia Spencer, Pam Grier, and Grey’s Anatomy creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes were also this year’s honorees at the luncheon.

FYI: Paula paired her Marchesa dress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels. She accessorized with a J/Hadley ring, Kara Ackerman bangle, and Dalla Nonna earrings.
