ABC just canceled the new series The Baker and the Beauty, but the show’s star Nathalie Kelley is giving fans hope that the show might live on at another network.

The 34-year-old actress, who plays Noa Hamilton on the series, took to Instagram to update fans on the series.

“Hey everyone! This is a Baker and the Beauty update to announce we will not be continuing on ABC – though thankful to them for the opportunity to tell this story. BUT – don’t despair! We are optimistic that the show will find a right home – and we will get to make a season two on a platform more suitable for us and for the amazing fan base,” Nathalie said.

ABC has revealed the fate of two of its freshman shows, The Baker and the Beauty and For Life.

While most of their shows have already been renewed or cancelled, the network waited a few more weeks to determine if For Life and The Baker and the Beauty were worth saving.

The shows that have already been renewed include the black-ish franchise, The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy and many more.

According to TVLine, For Life averaged a 0.56 demo rating and 2.5 million total viewers while The Baker and the Beauty averaged a 0.47 demo rating and 2.5 million total viewers.

The first trailer for ABC’s The Baker and the Beauty was just released!

The new series stars Nathalie Kelley and Victor Rasuk in the title roles, alongside Michelle Veintimilla, Belissa Escobedo, Lisa Vidal, Carlos Gomez, David Del Rio, and Dan Bucatinsky.

The show centers on Daniel Garcia (Rasuk), who works in the family bakery and doing everything that his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect him to do. But on a wild Miami night he meets Noa Hamilton (Kelley), an international superstar and fashion mogul, and his life moves into the spotlight.

The Baker and the Beauty will premiere on Monday, April 6th on ABC.
