Cara Delevingne has responded to a report that she was rejected from the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 2014 because she was “bloated.”
The 24-year-old model-turned-actress took to Instagram to share an open letter written by the lingerie brand’s CMO and fashion show executive producer, Ed Razek. He dispels the rumors and says she was the first model invited to be in the show.
“It’s shameless to discuss women’s bodies just to sell papers #bloated,” Cara captioned the photo of the letter.
“Contrary to The Sun‘s claims, which they never bothered to fact check with me, Victoria’s Secret made every effort to have you in the London show. I know, because I was the one making the effort,” Ed writes in the letter. “As a matter of fact, you were the first person invited, months ahead of anyone else.”
Ed explained that Cara couldn’t walk in the show as she was shooting her movie Paper Towns in North Carolina and he invited her to appear in this year’s show later this month.
