Prince's Ex-Wife Mayte Garcia Opens Up About the Loss of Their Son

Prince‘s ex-wife Mayte Garcia is opening up about the couple’s son Gregory, who passed away just a week after being born in 1996.

During Single Moms Planet’s Single Mom’s Awards on Friday (May 6), Mayte shared about the devastating loss.

“Like most women, I always dreamt of becoming a mother. It just wasn’t my time yet. After that, I was broken. And I lost hope. I basically gave up my dream of becoming a mom,” she explained.

Thankfully, Mayte would go on to adopt her now four-year-old daughter Gia

Mayte later added, “As you know, Prince is no longer with us. It is extremely difficult for me, and that is why I have chosen not to discuss it.”
