Lady Gaga Explains Why the 'One World' Concert Is Not a Fundraising Event

Lady Gaga is opening up about the upcoming special One World: Together at Home, which will air on April 18.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning entertainer has teamed up with the international advocacy group Global Citizen and the World Health Organization to curate the two-hour special, which she says will NOT be a fundraising event.

Gaga chatted with one of the three event hosts, Jimmy Kimmel, on Monday night (April 6) on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“The money will actually be raised before the special and we will not ask you for money during the special for a lot of reasons, mostly because we’re very cognizant of the fact that unemployment is rising and also that people are having a very hard time feeding their children. We want everyone to enjoy this show,” Gaga said. She has already raised $35 million by reaching out to corporations and philanthropists and she isn’t finished yet.

Make sure to see the star-studded lineup of celebs who will appear on the special!
