RHONY's Luann De Lesseps Reveals Why She Decided to Drink Again After Going Sober

Luann de Lesseps is opening up about her sobriety journey.

The 55-year-old Real Housewives of New York star made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Thursday (August 6).

During the episode, Luann was asked if “all the sober talk” on the current season of the reality TV series “was just for the camera.”

She then clarified that she “had to be sober because I was on probation,” which was a “heavy thing to live with.”

“If I had a drink, I could go to jail,” she revealed.

“It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through.”

“When I got through to the other side I really had the choice myself to decide if I wanted to drink or not and I felt in a good place and I felt I was back in the driver’s seat. Now I don’t have anybody watching over my shoulder except for me. I got through it, and thank God.”

Back in 2017, Luann was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida for being drunk, disorderly and attacking a policeman.
