'Mom' Series Finale: What Actually Happened To Christy's Kids?

The Mom series finale will be airing tonight and one of the biggest questions fans still have is what happened to Violet and Roscoe, Christy’s two children?

Sadie Calvano and Blake Garrett Rosenthal starred as the two characters for the first three seasons before they were quietly written out in season four so it could refocus on the AA support group that Christy and Bonnie were part of.

Violet and Roscoe were staples in almost every episode of Mom, for the first three seasons.

The early seasons concentrated more on how Christy (Anna Faris) handled not only getting over addiction, but how she handled her job and home life with two kids, plus her own mom, Bonnie (played by Allison Janney).

As the series approached season three, the show moved more to focus on the support group for Christy and Bonnie and quietly wrote both Violet and Roscoe out of the show.

Violet started the series by following in her mom and grandmother’s footsteps – as an pregnant teen. She had chosen to give the baby up for adoption during season one.

By season two, she was headed to college and there, became engaged to one of her college professors. However that didn’t last, and she was living back with Christy and Bonnie by the end of season three.

Violet does appear in two episodes of season four, before she’s written out completely. The reason given was that she had moved back in with Luke, who was the father of her child she gave up for adoption.

She does come back for one lone episode in season six, but is then never heard from again.

Blake Garrett Rosenthal as Roscoe Plunkett

Roscoe is the son of Christy, and her ex-husband, Baxter.

The character appeared in almost all of seasons one and two, and his appearance dwindled down in season three. His last appearance was in season four, episode six.

Roscoe was written out of the show and it was said that he went to live with his dad and his new wife, Candace Hayes (played by Sara Rue).

Blake, who made his first appearance when he was just eight, is now 17, and also just got his driver’s license.

The Mom series finale will air on Thursday, May 12 at 9/8c on CBS.
