Halsey to Auction Off Original Paintings to Benefit U.S. Abortion Funds

Halsey is doing their part to support abortion access.

On Monday (July 11), the 27-year-old “So Good” performer announced that they would be auctioning off five paintings that were created onstage during their most recent tour via Sotheby’s, with the proceeds going to the National Network of Abortions.

Each painting will be available through Sotheby’s and was created while performing at their recent concerts in Boston; Detroit, Tennessee; Nashville; Gulf Shores, Alabama; and Portland, Oregon.

The pieces feature faces outlined in black ink with details added in primary colors. They’re currently on display at Sotheby’s gallery in New York, with bidding set to begin on July 9 with a starting bid of $5,000 as part of their Contemporary Discoveries auction, which will close on July 19. You can see a video of Halsey making the paintings here.

The “Honey” singer’s decision to auction off the paintings comes after the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade, a ruling that marks an end to the federal protection of abortion rights.

In response to the ruling, Halsey opened up about suffering three miscarriages and revealing that an abortion saved their life. Read more here.
