'Harry Potter' Actor Ralph Fiennes Defends JK Rowling From 'Appalling' Abuse Over Her Anti-Trans Statements

A Harry Potter cast member is stepping up to defend JK Rowling.

The 57-year-old author has been facing off against former fans for a while now over comments that she has made about the transgender community. While other franchise stars have called her out, Voldermort actor Ralph Fiennes is in her corner.

He shared his opinions about the backlash in a recent interview.

Ralph said that JK has been the victim of abuse in an interview with The Telegraph.

“The verbal abuse directed at her is disgusting, it’s appalling. I mean, I can understand a viewpoint that might be angry at what she says about women,” he said. “But it’s not some obscene, uber Right-wing fascist.”

“It’s just a woman saying, ‘I’m a woman and I feel I’m a woman and I want to be able to say that I’m a woman.’ And I understand where she’s coming from. Even though I’m not a woman,” he added.

JK has already responded to critics and hinted at how she sleeps at night despite being cancelled.
