A 'Great British Bake Off' Cast Member Is Leaving the Show - Reason Revealed!

The Great British Bake Off (or The Great British Baking Show in America) is losing one of its core castmates.

Matt Lucas is leaving as co-host of the show after three seasons, and he says it’s due to scheduling conflicts with his new series Fantasy Football League for Sky.

“It’s become clear to me that I can’t present both ‘Fantasy Football League’ and ‘Bake Off’ alongside all my other projects,” he wrote on Twitter.

“So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else.”

Matt began co-hosting during the 11th season, replacing co-host Sandi Toksvig. He worked alongside co-host Noel Fielding and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

“I would like to give my warmest thanks and gratitude to everyone at Love Productions and Channel 4 and to Noelipops, Paül, Dame Prue, the crew and, of course, the wonderful bakers for welcoming me into the tent,” he wrote.

“I wish whoever takes over all the very best and I can’t wait to tune into the next series without already knowing who won!”

One of the other stars of the show revealed why there isn’t an “All Stars” season yet.
