Eddie Murphy to Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award at Golden Globes 2023

Eddie Murphy is going to be honored at the 2023 Golden Globes.

On Wednesday (December 14), the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that the 61-year-old Coming to America actor will be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the upcoming awards ceremony.

“We’re honored to present this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award to the iconic and highly esteemed Mr. Eddie Murphy,” HFPA President Helen Hoehne said in a press release, via THR. “We’re thrilled to be celebrating the lasting impact on film and television that his career — in front of and behind the camera — has had through the decades.”

Over the years, Eddie was received six Golden Globes nominations, winning once back in 2007 for his role in Dreamgirls.

Eddie joins a long list of stars that have previously received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, including Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Robin Williams, Meryl Streep, and most recently Jane Fonda, who received the award at the 2021 Golden Globes.
