When Does 'Avatar 3' Come Out in Theaters? Release Dates for Third, Fourth, & Fifth Movies Revealed

The new movie Avatar: The Way of Water is now playing in theaters and it’s going to be the biggest movie of the holiday season.

If you enjoyed the film, you’re in luck as there are more Avatar movies in the works.

Director James Cameron is planning a five-movie franchise and he shot the second and third films at the same time. He finished the performance-capture filming with the principal cast for Avatar 2 and 3 back in November 2018 and it’s taken years to complete the rest of the production process.

Avatar 3 currently has a release date of December 20, 2024. Some new characters in this film will be played by Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

A possible title for the third movie is Avatar: The Seed Bearer.

Avatar 4 and 5 have not been filmed yet, but there are already release dates set in place.

The fourth movie is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026 and the fifth movie is scheduled to be released on December 22, 2028.
