First-Time Nominee Ke Huy Quan Wins Best Supporting Actor at Oscars 2023

Ke Huy Quan is a winner!

The 51-year-old actor won Best Supporting Actor at the 2023 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 12) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The first-time nominee won for his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

“My journey started on a boat,” he said.

“I spent a year in a refugee camp. And somehow I ended up here on Hollywood’s biggest stage. They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I can’t believe this is happening to me. This is the American dream!”

“I owe everything to the love my life, Echo. Who month after month, year after year for 20 years told me that one day my time will come. Dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To all of you out there, please keep your dreams alive,” he went on to say. See pictures of the couple at the event.

Make sure to tune in TONIGHT at 8/7c on ABC. The Oscars are being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, marking his third time as the emcee. The movie Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the pack this year with 11 nominations. Check out the full list of nominees here!
